Hujambo! It’s currently five days and counting until I depart for Nairobi. Preparation continues to be a daunting task. We’ve gotten several e-mails from our program director, KJ, with some information I felt interesting or relevant to share. Firstly, my address for the semester will be:

KJ mentioned that the process for receiving packages was quite the ordeal. First we must stand in line at the post-office to get our slip, then take it to the bank to pay the fee, and then return to the post-office to show that we paid and then we can get our package. So, just think of that before you send me that pasta fazul in the mail. Secondly, the internet café in our compound apparently closed down – making internet access for us a little trickier. There is another internet café 15 minutes away but because of viruses the computers at USIU are probably going to be where most of us get online. Of course, though, I have NO idea what to expect when I arrive and remain very open-minded and excited.

Lastly, I loved all the e-mails and updates I got back after my last e-mail. Definitely continue to keep me posted. It’s fun to hear from everybody. My family just got back from Texas where my cousin got married to a stand-up guy. It was great seeing all of the family there. My next post will most likely be from Africa, so until then…kwa heri!
